Started in 2024, splat! began life as a Glasgow-based DIY zine run by Oliver Rogers including collaborations from short fiction writers and academics focused on culture and film, spanning over 35 issues. Originally coming into being as a space for friends to publish and experiment with work in a friendly and supportive environment.
Although changing formats and finding a new home both on this very website and substack (@splatstack) we are still posting new issues and collaborative pieces regularly.
As a production company, Splat’s first venture was the short film ‘Resolutions’, made with a Glasgow Short Film Festival Nominated creative team and in co-operation with Oddness Studios. Since then we have collaborated with local artists producing music videos and hosting gigs, all in the spirit of community and creative joy.
We look forward to continuing our journey developing work that is unique, challenging and created purely for the love of the process.
